My last Spin In

It was fun. I am sad.

Here's Julia. How long do you think it'll be before she goes home with that honey of a wheel? Julia was sweet enough to come out to 1) meet me and 2) say good-bye. She brought Andrea who was super sweet and fun to watch spin.

Here's Jason's lovely drop spindle. I forgot to ask who makes it but it sure is lovely.

And here's Jason in action.

This is a picture that I think I will cherish for the rest of my life. These folks trekked across the dangerous the LA freeways to come see me on my final offical play-day in town. I'm so thankful to have these people as my friends. Standing from left to right is me, Jason, Monkeygurrrl and Uccellina (who refuses to let me take pics of her beautiful face for posting in blogs). Seated is Miss Kendra.

I love you guys with all my heart. You brought me out of my dark cave (otherwise known as Encino) and gave me hope of finding other kind hearts out there in the world. I'll never be wanting for friends with you in my life.

And so I went home... This is the hell that is currently my home. For frell's sake, I'm only 30. How could I have accumulated so much in 8 years? Granted, much of it is fiber/yarn stash... The rest is books, books, comic books and books. We haven't even started on the kitchen. I dont' want to think about the garage.

HOLY CRAPPA MOLEY!!! That *IS* a lot of stuff (even tho it doesn't even compare with amount of crap I've accummulated in the last 20+ years...)

I'm so glad we came to SnS - everyone was so very nice and the shop was lovely. If I ever do go over to the dark side, I'll be sure to frequent their shop!

moving is so sad! myg-d, the boxes. I don't feel so guilty about my stash now ;)

It's not ALL stash. A couple boxes involves fabric stash, a couple more for tchochkes, a lot for framed things, mostly my photography work and family pics. I think there are like 6 boxes that are strictly framed things.

I have one more book case to pack up. Unfortunately, it's the tallest one. Someone hold me...

I'm glad Miss Kendra's parts aren't going "Blurgh" this morning.

waahhhhh...(we pause while Laurie Ann sobs uncontrollably).
As much fun as I had betting on the ponies and drinking myself into a stupor (I showed some co-workers my breasts while on a train with STRANGERS), I really wish I was at your last hoorah at S&S last night. I can't believe you got Monkeygurrrl to venture into the valley. I'm going to miss you. Edgar sends his love.

What a great turn out of friends. That's SO special. That's devoted bunch of friends.

also, When I looked at that photo of your stash and stuff, I thought the bolt of white fabric was a stack of stolen industrial-sized toilet paper.

Sachi said...

Oh, that. That's actually packing paper.

Ummm... will you come help me pack when I move? hehehe

Do you have a date for your L.A. visit yet? :-) Last night was so much fun! I am so glad that I was able to be there.

Doh! Forgot to mention. The spindle is a Kundert. There's an interview with Steve in the new issue of Spindlicity.

ZMrK looked at the pics and said, "Those are comic boxes!". He should know. We have at least 30 here!

Sachi said...

YES, they are comics. The brown stack behind them are all comics too... and the paper bags... Then there are about 4 boxes full of pulps. I can't even count how many paperbacks. In the luggage? Books.

I'm going to start swapping books for yarn, I think. Read a book and get rid of it will allow me to get yarn for 1 project... Or maybe just a hank.
